Tips and tricks to LinkedInSubmitted by Ameritas on August 8th, 2018
Similar to Facebook, LinkedIn has two sides, you can have a business page for your organization that others can follow or a personal profile to connect with colleagues. Each has their own benefits and you may find value in one over the other depending on your individual goals for the platform. As with any social media platform, there are tips and tricks that can help you ensure you’re getting the most out of your efforts.
Take advantage of LinkedIn groups.
LinkedIn groups are a great way to connect to a community of individuals with similar interests. Groups can range from topics on social media to young professionals in your local community. You can see your group feed and discover new groups through the “work” tab in the top right of the LinkedIn navigation bar and clicking “groups”.
Keep an eye out for promotions and job changes.
LinkedIn updates you with each profile change, including new jobs. This can be a prime opportunity to reach out to a current client or a prospective client in your local community. However, keep in mind this will only show if you are using a personal profile and you’re directly connected with the individual.
Post and share regular updates.
Stay top of mind with your connections by sharing out content on a consistent basis. Don’t feel like you need to be sourcing new articles all the time. LinkedIn allows you to follow companies and you can easily share their content. Another tip is to always add in a sentence or two about the information you’re sharing to add more value.
Together these tips can help you along your way to getting the most out of your LinkedIn efforts.
